I struggled with cable knit stitches. I was afraid to learn how to cable knit. The stitches are beautiful and look complicated. It took me a year to get the courage to try to learn… a whole year.

Yarns
I used a variety of yarns, so you can see how they work up with different yarns. I specify the yarn on each pattern page.
You can use any category of yarn you’d like:
DK weight yarn
Bulky weight yarn
Aran weight yarn
Worsted weight yarn
To get the right gauge, start with the recommended needle size. If you’re stitches are too loose, use smaller needles and if you’re stitches are too tight use larger needles. We all knit differently, so the ultimate goal is to get a nice tension.
Some of the super bulky yarn I used:
Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick
MilliaMia Super Chunky
Cascade Yarns Pacific Bulky
Cascade Yarns Lana Grande
Knit Picks The Big Cozy
Crazy Sexy Wool by Wool and the Gang
Purl Soho Super Soft Merino
Tools
Double-Pointed-Needles (DPN’s)
Circular Needles
Straight Knitting Needles
Helpful tip: I like using circular knitting needles or double-pointed needle’s DPN’s for a small swatch, it’s easier on my hands than full length straight needles.
