Welcome to Day 19 of the 21 Days of Lace Knit Stitches Series! Learn how to knit this beginner lace knit stitch in the video tutorial below.
I don’t know about y’all, but I needed something a little on the simple side to give my brain a break and this is a nice break from some of those long stitches! :) What series is complete without a herringbone stitch?!

Repeat rows 1-12 until desired length.
Tip:
The sides curl a little bit, so this one needs a border, but I’m not sure what would look best since it zig-zags. I recommend playing with different stitches to see what will work best: garter stitch, seed stitch, an I-cord or a crocheted border… there’s no shortage of options! :)
I’m very happy with the outcome and I’d probably skip blocking it. I think it looks great just the way it is, but that’s my personal preference, to each their own :)
Increase and decrease on the same row, so the stitch count is the same on every row.
This would look pretty going up the center of a sweater or add a border to make it a scarf.
