Pattern Instructions

CO 72 STS, PM, join in the round.

Knit all rounds for about 7 1/2″ (19cm) or desired brim size. (Once I folded mine and seamed it, it was about 3 1/2” (9cm).

On the next round, fold the CO edge to the inside and knit each CO STS with each knit stitch. (Watch the video here.)

Knit 6 more rounds, or desired height of hat.

Note (Optional):

When the stitches get too tight switch to DPNs or a longer cable and knit using the magic loop method.

Decrease for the crown:

Round 1: *K7, K2TOG, PM* (decrease 8 STS)

Round 2: *K*

Round 3: *K6, K2TOG, SM* (decrease 8 STS)

Round 4: *K*

Round 5: *K5, K2TOG, SM* (decrease 8 STS)

Round 6: *K*

Round 10: *K*

Round 11: *K2, K2TOG, remove stitch marker* (decrease 8 STS)

Round 12-15: *K1, P1*

Weave in the ends.
